Top Rated Recliner for Sleeping Reviews
Flash Furniture Plush Brown Leather Lever Rocker Recliner
The first recliner for sleeping in this review comes from Flash Furniture. These guys are famous worldwide, as they make some of the finest furniture pieces, and this extraordinary recliner is not an exception. I’m mainly recommending it due to its high performance, but, considering it’s a budget chair, It’s great for the cash and quite above average when compared to top-quality, higher end models.
First of all, this is a rocking recliner – this means that you’ll be able to swing back & forth as you please, which is also what makes it so good for sleeping. All of this is done with a simple pull of the lever which is found at the side of the construction.
The bristle-back cushions are exquisitely comfortable and, combined with the upholstered arms, provide an enormous level of comfortability.
This chair is also very well built overall, as it features stiff LeatherSoft and polyurethane materials. Additionally, these materials provide a soft surface for you to relax on – another reason why you should consider it for sleeping.
Lastly, Flash Furniture’s recliner features CA117 fire-proof foam, making it impervious to flames (unless they’re very serious, though).
Overall, I really liked this chair. It’s remarkably easy to use due to the plain method of operation, it’s very comfortable, soft, and quite cheap.
The only thing I didn’t like is the durability. Don’t get the wrong idea – this recliner isn’t flimsy, but it performs well in all other fields of performance – this one leaves a lot to be desired. Anyhow, the plethora of benefits it offers are more than enough to compensate for this small flaw.
- Exceptionally easy to use.
- Plain, efficient features.
- Supreme Leathersoft upholstery.
- Polyurethane materials provide additional softness.
- Highly valuable for the cash.
- Bristle-back cushions.
- Mediocre durability when compared to similar models.
Cozzia Dual Power ZG Recliner
Next on the menu is Cozzia’s Dual Power ZG recliner – this recliner looks very futuristic, and it certainly costs as much. I’ve added this model to the list as I wanted to spice things up a bit – most people are content with having an entry-level, or even mid-priced recliner at best, but those who don’t mind paying top dollar will be able to experience something which can be hardly described with words – ultimate comfort.
First of all, this magnificent recliner for sleeping features an independent headrest and footrest features – it’s as if this recliner was built for nothing but sleeping. The “one touch” button does exactly what you think – it’s used to transform this contraption into a sci-fi bed-like recliner. You won’t have to struggle with various adjustments and settings – all you have to do is press it and enjoy the show.
There are three color models at your disposal. The “Black” appears elegant and excels in aesthetics. I highly recommend it, and it just happens to be my personal favorite. Apart from black, you can choose between the “Chocolate” and “Ivory Leather”. The latter is, by far, the most beautiful recliner I’ve ever laid my eyes on.
It’s not that Cozzia’s ZG recliner is just comfortable – it also comes outfitted with special soothing massage and heat therapy options. You’ll be able to sleep, get massaged, and enjoy your very own spa-like recliner without having to fret about a thing – it doesn’t come with any major flaws, apart from the fact that it really costs a fortune.
The base is made of solid beechwood – this material is quite exotic and exquisite, and It’s safe to say that it provides an unprecedented level of durability to the recliner. Other materials used in the construction process of this outstanding recliner feature high-grade bonded leather.
Overall, this might just be the best recliner for sleeping – if you’re prepared to part with a fortune, that is. As I mentioned before, this particular model doesn’t come cheap – in fact, it’s the most expensive model in this review. Be it as it may, the pros heavily outweigh this small flaw in my opinion.
- Ultimate recliner for sleeping.
- Available in three color variations.
- The head and footrest operate independently.
- One-touch control button.
- Vibration, massages, and heat therapy settings.
- Premium-quality materials.
- Exceptionally durable.
- Costs a fortune.
Stallion Comfort King Chaise Wallsaver Recliner
Lane Furniture brought us the Stallion – otherwise known as the “Comfort King”. The name says it all, generally – this is one of the most comfortable recliners, as it’s made of ultra-squishy foam-like fabric. In general, the “Comfort King” is big, it features a massive supportive strength, and it comes quite cheap.
First of all, if you’re experiencing back pain issues, you’ll love the Tall-Back design. The seat is properly cushioned and you’ll notice purposefully placed gaps which allow you to sink in and drift away to slumber in mere seconds.
The seat is quite wide, and it’s obvious that the manufacturer intended this recliner for bigger people. Another fact that proves this statement is the extraordinary supportive strength I mentioned earlier – this recliner can support up to five hundred pounds. That’s more than enough for two people, taken that the seat is also larger than that of an average recliner.
The Comfort King reclines into a position with a simple pull of a lever (found on the bottom right hand-side of the construction). Once extended, it reaches the size of a full-fledged king-size mattress, and that’s not all – this amazing recliner comes quite cheap when compared to most other models in this review.
Lastly, even though I mentioned it, I highly recommend this beautiful recliner to anyone who demands comfort. The chances of finding a comfier recliner than this are slim to none, and that’s an understatement.
The only flaw I managed to find is the lack of any extra features or settings – that wasn’t such a downfall, given that the sheer design of the Comfort King gives more than I wanted in the first place. Overall, I label this recliner as one of the best in the price point category.
- Tall back design.
- Ideal for larger people.
- Wider seat.
- Exceptionally easy to use.
- Massive value for the cash.
- Can support up to five hundred pounds.
- Superior comfortability.
- No outstanding or special features.
Coaster Home Furnishings Power Lift Wall Hugger Recliner Chair
Coaster Home Furnishings boast a wide selection of top-quality furniture, and I’ve taken the liberty of picking one of their best recliners for sleeping. This model is a power-lift chair which is very practical and plain, but don’t let that fool you – it comes with a neat set of high-quality features which give up for a high overall value for the cash.
The first most notable feature of this beautiful chair is the magnificent upholstering – you can see that the padded velvet looks pretty good on it, making for a perfect combination with the brown sugar texture. Even though it looks rather ordinary, its full beauty lies in its simplicity if you ask me.
The reclining lift works in a similar fashion to those of the other models we’ve mentioned so far, and there’s plenty of room – it can easily accommodate a very large person, plus it features 375 pounds of supportive strength. Surely enough, that’s a bit lower when compared to the “Comfort King” which I previously mentioned, but it’s more than you’d ever need.
Above all, this particular recliner for sleeping is abnormally comfortable. The armrests are neatly padded, the seat is conveniently cushioned, and it’s safe to say that this is among the most comfortable chairs I’ve found – it can easily go toe to toe with most high-end models even though it comes at a lower price.
Speaking of which, this model belongs to the bottom bracket of the medium price point category – It’s neither too cheap or too expensive, but it holds a substantial value for the money.
Its only flaw is the annoying noise it sometimes makes when you use the reclining lift – this might require getting used to. Nevertheless, for a cheap recliner, this one’s pretty awesome.
- Exceptional comfortability.
- Plain and straightforward design.
- Power lift and recline.
- Decent supportive strength.
- Emergency back-up system.
- Moderately affordable.
- Makes annoying noises when you use the power lift feature.
Dorel Living Padded Dual Massage Recliner
The last recliner for sleeping in this review comes from “Dorel Living” – a brand that specializes in manufacturing high-quality recliners. Even though their menu is quite vast, I’ve picked one of their most affordable models so that people who want to save up have more options.
Just like the previous model, this one is remarkably plain and straightforward. It features a neat zone massaging setting that can be switched between high and low. Furthermore, the lever release can be used to recline below the usual angle.
The chair is fully upholstered and features multiple pad supports for legs and knees. The foam settings substantially boost the overall comfortability, all the while providing the base of the construction with much-needed durability.
The seat was sewn-in and it features convenient back cushions – that’s not such a common sight as far as budget recliners are concerned, so I think that’s a big plus. Lastly, the high affordability of this chair is the prime reason why it made it into the top 5 list – this chair belongs to the “affordable” price point category, and it boasts a tremendous value for the money.
- Zone massage settings.
- Lever release reclining function.
- Fully upholstered and padded supports.
- Sewn-in design with back cushions.
- Foam seating provides exceptional levels of comfortability and durability.
- Very affordable.
- Not well built if you compare it to other models in this review.
Benefits of using a Recliner for sleeping
One of the most obvious benefits of owning a recliner for sleeping is also the most important one – whenever you feel like taking a nap, you don’t have to drag yourself into the bed, as you can use the recliner.
Sleeping on recliners is generally less comfortable than sleeping in a normal bed, but that doesn’t apply to specifically designed recliners for sleeping.
Another important benefit is the versatility of these recliners. Namely, they can be used as regular chairs/sofas, or as an improvised bed for you to sleep in. Certain recliners can extend, resembling a regular bed, but more compact.
Recliners for sleeping are travel-friendly, in a sense. You’d have to struggle to transport your entire bed, but that won’t be hard if it was a recliner, now, would it?
Things to consider before you purchase your recliner for sleeping
We are pitting five models from five different brands in hopes of understanding what makes the best recliner for sleeping “the best”. The first thing that comes to mind is the price – usually people associate luxury with value, so let’s see how that went.
Price – does it really matter?
As you can see, the price difference between high-end and entry-level recliners are roughly $1000. The reason why I’ve included models from both extremes is so that you can see that the price isn’t the only factor you should consider, but it’s definitely one of the most important ones.
Furthermore, it’s safe to conclude that words such as “cheap” and “expensive” have a different meaning here – a “cheap” recliner can do as much as the “expensive” one, it’s the details that differentiate them. However, these “details” can be pretty important as well – just compare Cozzia’s Dual Power recliner and Dorel Living’s model and you’ll get the picture.
Durability – how sturdy is your recliner for sleeping?
The actual, most vital aspect of performance you should be looking out for is durability. Everyone would love to have a beautiful recliner, that much is for certain, but aesthetics are virtually useless if the chair ends up breaking down.
Performance – how “useful” is your recliner?
“Performance” of a recliner shows us its aspects of usefulness. If it’s durable, it can be used for extended periods of time. If it’s beautiful, you’d feel more inclined to own it. If it’s comfortable, you’d actually have a reason to try it out – that’s the performance of a recliner.
Now, putting all of these parts into a whole would give us an answer to “what makes the best recliner for sleeping” – you’ll want to find a durable, beautiful, comfortable recliner, try it out, compare it to the models you had previously took into consideration, and then make the decision.
Conclusion
Picking the best recliner for sleeping from the plethora of models is all but easy. There are numerous brands that make exceptional recliners, and I’ll give each of them credit for doing their best, but the decision has to be made – which models are better than others and why?
Certain cheap recliners are well-built and would pass as an average one by a long shot, others are made of more comfortable materials, but we’re interested in the best recliners, aren’t we? Well, the best recliners for sleeping are the ones that are valuable rather than cheap or expensive, durable enough to withstand years of usage, and of course, they have to look good.
Take a gander at my top picks of the best recliners for sleeping – I wish you all the luck in finding the one that’s best for you!
